Time Detail
2019-09-27 16:16:44 EDT Information Technology Services (ITS) is aware of a significant data breach at a third-party website that has resulted in account information, including passwords, being compromised. ITS has identified potentially impacted users at Binghamton University. Those who are potentially affected will see a pop-up message in my.binghamton.edu when they log in. If you log into my.binghamton.edu and do not see a pop-up message advising you to change your password, your account is not affected by this compromise. However, we do recommend that you use different passwords on different systems to help avoid a single- system compromise affecting others.

To reset your Binghamton University password, visit the link below https://password.binghamton.edu

If Google has disabled your account, contact the Help Desk at helpdesk@binghamton.edu using an alternate email address and ITS will enable your account so you can securely reset your own password.
2019-10-24 10:12:47 EDT ITS has seen a decrease in new accounts that have been disabled in this compromise. However, if you use your Binghamton email address to sign on to other company's systems, especially those that have been compromised such as Chegg, MyFitnessPal, etc, it is recommended that you change your passwords as soon as possible to avoid future compromise. ITS also recommends setting up Two-Step verification on your Binghamton email be accessing the Security section of your account. Contact the ITS Help Desk at helpdesk@binghamton.edu or 607-777-6420 with any questions or if you need any help securing your Binghamton email account.
